Gamification, Rewards & Promotions Policy

Rules governing FP, Bread, Crumbs, challenges, and rewards

Purpose

This policy governs the Platform's gamification systems, virtual economy, challenge mechanics, and promotional activities. It supplements the Terms of Service and is incorporated by reference.

Virtual Economy Rules

2.1 Flavor Points (FP)

FP are earned through Platform activity (creating, publishing, collaborating, winning challenges, scanning QR codes, attending events, completing quests, daily streaks)

FP determine rank progression and unlock privileges

FP cannot be purchased with real currency

FP cannot be sold, traded, transferred, or converted to cash

FP have no monetary value whatsoever

FP may be adjusted, rebalanced, or reset by AIY at any time

FP are forfeited upon account termination

2.2 Bread

Bread is the Platform's primary transactional unit

Bread may be used to purchase items on the Marketplace

Bread may be earned through challenges, rewards, and promotions

Bread is non-transferable between users unless through a Marketplace transaction

Bread has no guaranteed cash value or exchange rate

Unspent Bread is forfeited upon account termination

2.3 Crumbs

Crumbs are micro-reward units earned through minor interactions

Crumbs may be converted to Bread at rates set by AIY

Conversion rates may change at any time

Crumbs have no independent monetary value

Crumbs are forfeited upon account termination

2.4 No Real-World Value Guarantee

ALL VIRTUAL ITEMS, CURRENCIES, AND PROGRESSION METRICS ARE LICENSED, NOT OWNED. AIY makes no guarantee of real-world value. AIY may modify, rebalance, reset, or discontinue any economy element at any time. Users have no property right or monetary claim in any virtual item.

Rank System

The rank ladder (Dreamer, Creator, Curator, Architect, Legend) is based on cumulative FP. Rank affects: interface features, station access, challenge eligibility, beta tool access, featured placement, developer permissions, and team leadership privileges.

Rank thresholds may be adjusted as the Platform grows

Rank may be frozen during account review or suspension

Rank cannot be purchased

Rank is reset to Dreamer upon account termination and recreation

Challenges and Competitions

4.1 General Rules

Challenges are open to all eligible users unless specific eligibility requirements are stated

Eligibility may be restricted by: age, rank, account standing, location (where required by law), or other criteria stated in the challenge rules

AIY's determination of challenge results is final

Participants must comply with all Platform rules during challenges

Cheating, exploiting, or colluding voids participation and forfeits rewards

4.2 Challenge Rewards

Rewards are specified in each challenge's description before entry

Rewards may include: FP, Bread, Crumbs, digital items, rank bonuses, badges, or featured status

Rewards are non-transferable unless explicitly stated

AIY may substitute rewards of equal or greater value if the stated reward becomes unavailable

Promotions and Sweepstakes

When AIY offers promotions, sweepstakes, or contests involving prizes of real-world monetary value:

Official rules will be published for the specific promotion

No purchase is necessary to enter sweepstakes where required by law

Eligibility, entry methods, prize descriptions, odds, and selection procedures are specified in the official rules

Void where prohibited by law

Prizes are subject to applicable taxes, which are the winner's responsibility

⚠ Any promotion offering real-world prizes must have official rules reviewed by counsel for compliance with state sweepstakes/contest laws. States like New York, Florida, and Rhode Island have specific registration/bonding requirements for high-value sweepstakes.

Reward Expiration and Forfeiture

FP do not expire while the account is active

Bread does not expire while the account is active

Crumbs do not expire while the account is active

Promotional or bonus rewards may have expiration dates, which will be clearly communicated at the time of issuance

All virtual items, currencies, and progression are forfeited upon account termination (whether by AIY or by the user)

Suspended accounts have economy activity frozen for the suspension duration

Fraud and Abuse

The following are prohibited and will result in enforcement under the Community Guidelines:

Multi-accounting to farm rewards

Exploiting bugs or glitches to earn undeserved rewards

Using bots or automated tools to participate in challenges

Colluding with other users to manipulate challenge outcomes

Purchasing, selling, or trading accounts or virtual items outside the Platform

AIY reserves the right to: reverse fraudulently obtained rewards; void challenge results affected by fraud; suspend or terminate accounts involved in abuse; and modify economy parameters to close exploits.

Modifications

AIY may modify any aspect of the gamification system, economy, challenge mechanics, or reward structures at any time. Material changes (changes to earning rates, rank thresholds, or forfeiture rules) will be communicated via Platform notification with reasonable advance notice where practicable.
